Kitchen
The kitchen is stocked with dishes, glasses and cups, utensils and cookware. Includes plastic dishes and cups for outdoor dining.
A BBQ is available for your personal use.
The house is supplied with water via a well. The water is filtered twice for grit and then passes through a UV light filter system. A Brita filter is also provided for your use.
We recycle! The recycling container will be placed outside your front door. The garbage bins are stored under the carport.
Laundry
The laundry room with full size washer/dryer is for your private use - it is not shared. Includes an iron and ironing board.
TV Remotes
Cable TV viewing is available as well as access to Netflix. There are two remotes to operate. Clear instructions are provided in the Welcome Book in the suite.
Bathroom
The house is on a spectic system. Please flush only the 3 p's - you know pee, poo and paper! If it can't be digested don't flush it!
In a power outage, do not flush toilets. The pump to the well needs power. Use bottled water provided in the utility room to fill the tanks.
Extras
Please park your vehicle on the road.
A playpen, baby gate, 2 cribs and 2 highchairs are provided for your use if required.
Feel free to take a book home if you haven't finished it or leave one behind for the next guests!
In Case of Emergency
All emergency contact numbers are available in the House Manual.
Suite is equipped with a first aid kit, fire extinguisher and smoke detectors.
In case of a power outage, battery operated lights have been added to the power outlet in each room. These will come on automatically and will last 6 hours. Please do not flush toilets without filling the tank with the water provided as the well pump will be out.
House Rules
Please respect the home that we are sharing with you!
- Children and pets welcome;
- Please be considerate to both your host and future guests by not cooking any foods that may leave a lingering smell. We have had an unpleasant experience which took 3 days to clear out! Please use the BBQ outside if you want to cook these types of food.
- There is no microwave in the suite. If you require one, please bring it with you.
- Please pick up after your dog; dog must be leashed as the owners have cats;
- Ban on camp fires in the valley during the dry season - no pit fires allowed.
- There are a few steps in the suite (baby gate provided) and the property is tiered, so toddlers need supervision at all times;
- Filtered and UV'd well water. On septic system so only flush what is necessary. Please put feminine products, diapers and paper towels in the garbage bin provided;
- Please be respectful towards the neighbors and keep the noise down, especially between 10 pm and 7 am;
- No smoking of any kind (that includes marijuana and vaping) anywhere on the property. A $250 deep cleaning fee will be charged as a result of any smoking in the suite.
- Please dispose of your garbage and recyclables in the bins provided.
The owners reside in the upper half of the house and are always available to answer any questions you may have. There are cats that reside with the hosts so you will occasionally hear them running and playing!
